I've been drinking a lot less lately, which is having a marked effect on my sleeping patterns. Firstly, it's much more apparent to me that I'm sleeping alone when I'm sober. Something I need to get used to. Secondly, my dreams have been much more vivid and intense. I even remember most of them. Thursday night I fell asleep reading
The Dirt, and dreamt for 4 hours that I was Nikki Sixx, overdosing and coming back from the dead and being self-destructive. Then the next night I dreamt about my future ex-husband, who lives in LA. He and I don't talk that often, so it was weird when he called me on Sunday out of the blue. Here's the emails we exchanged regarding the dream:

Okay...you have to realize that it's much more intense when you're
actually dreaming it...
I was driving my car, my tiny little Eclipse, on the highway in my
hometown in Alaska. I drove through this park, and saw you just chilling
at a bench, so I picked you up. I remember it was 11:00 pm. We started
driving back to town, and all of a sudden the lights in my car started
flickering and then went out, so we're driving super fast with no
lights, and since it's Alaska there's no streetlights that far
out...super scary. Then, (keep in mind I've never done K, so I have no
frame of reference) it felt like I slipped into a K-hole, I got tunnel
vision and then every thing went blurry and slipped out the right side
of my view, like when you adjust the horizontal on a television. Then, I
snapped out of it when all of a sudden all the lights came on super
bright in the car...only it wasn't the inside of my car anymore, it was
the inside of my bedroom. And we were just looking at each other like
"What the?" And then we realized that we weren't even in my car, we were
in my bedroom and we had just woken up and it was 7:00 am and the sun
was out...so 8 hours had passed by and we had no idea how we ended up
where we were.
It was super crazy.

blog it.
the sad thing is stephen king thinks like this on a regular basis.
that was a very sharp dream. i felt like i was reading straight from a hollywood
screenplay, think flatliners. wonder what in your mind triggered such an intense
experience? amazing what the human mind has the ability to conjure up during a
night of sleep.
some crazy things go on up in the dome. imagine if we utilized more than 6% of it.
although it wasn't pretty, i'm glad we got to share that experience together.
that was my first trip to alaska. keep dreaming, i love travel.
I heart him.
